Abstract :
A high power supply system (up to 3 - 4 GW per impulse) for the electromagnetic mass accelerator is developed. Unique modules designed for multiple switching operations and high currents and voltages (up to 1.2MA and 5KV) are proposed. This paper describes various mass accelerator systems and their power supply systems. The systems can be fed by a DC current unipolar generator base on a multiphase synchronous generator and controlled rectifier.
