  • Abstract
    Rotor slot leakage reactance is one critical part of rotor parameters calculations on the line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor. Due to the serious skin effect in rotor slots, the calculation accuracy of rotor slot leakage reactance is very low by the magnetic circuit method: this makes the calculation results of the starting performance not ideal. So, an improved layer method is presented in the essay to calculate accurately the rotor slot leakage reactance of a type of LSPMSM. The electromagnetic torque was calculated based on the accurate leakage reactance, comparing with the experimental results. The improved method was proved to be more accurate with less calculating time than the previous one.
