Abstract :
A method is proposed to calculate the vibration of magnetic cores of power transformers due to magnetostriction based upon the coupling between the magnetic field and the mechanical deformation. This strong coupling is achieved by solving separately the magnetic model and mechanical model based on measurement, including of magnetization properties and magnetostriction characters in rolling and transverse rolling directions of electrical steel measured by Epstein Frame. Both Magnetic anisotropy and eddy effect are considered during magnetic field analysis, and local magnetostriction force is calculated in a way similar to how thermal stresses are usually incorporated.
