Abstract :
EHF-band will be used in the next generation satellite communication. The transmitter is the major part of RF front-end and the power amplifier is the key component of the transmitter. The design of an EHF-band 10W solid-state transmitter is presented. The transmitter converts signals of Sband to EHF-band and achieves an output power of 10 watts in EHF-band by power combining. The combining efficiency of the EHF-band power amplifier module reaches 80%. The results measured indicate that the transmitter designed has a wide application prospect in the EHF-band satellite communication systems.
