Abstract :
MIMO radar is an emerging technology that is attracting the interest of researchers. Each element for MIMO radar systems can transmit an arbitrary waveform, which leads to more flexibility for signal optimization and transmit beampattern synthesis. Here we propose a new method to synthesis MIMO radar transmit beampattern based on Genetic Algorithm. By employing Genetic Algorithm to select the best set of polyphase coded signals, we can approximate a desired beampattern which can hardly be achieved by its phased-array radar counterpart.
