Abstract :
In this paper, a hybrid modulation classification via Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and cumulant test method for the cognitive network has been proposed. The modulation classification is a method to evaluate the unknown modulation format. In cognitive systems, the cognitive users (CR) can classify the modulation formats of the primary users (PR), which helps to improve the throughput performance of CR and make better use of the limited spectrum. This paper presents the hybrid modulation classification scheme for the cognitive system, and discusses the detailed hybrid and hierarchical classification architecture for QAM/PSK modulation classification. The proposed scheme outperforms the solo cumulant scheme with little attendant computational complexity.
