Abstract :
Researchers conducted interviews on students in a leadership course and performed a survey to identify what factors drive students choices between traditional and a role-play simulation course based course. The use of virtual teams in the course suggested some potential drivers of the choice. Significant factors identified include the clarity of goals and roles and the presence of engagement and cooperation. Suggestions for future research and further enhancements of role-play based courses are provided.
