Abstract :
This paper deals with a hybrid system comprised of scalar continuous dynamics and a pulse-modulated feedback that represents a simplified version of a model earlier proposed for describing the mechanism of pulsatile hormone regulation in endocrinology. It is shown that even in this drastically reduced form, the system demonstrates a wide range of complex behaviors, including chaotic dynamics.
