Abstract
A wearable earlobe hook-type ear PPG bio sensor is designed and presented. This paper not only outlines the design consideration but also perform experimental evaluation of the ear PPG sensor including the assessment of analog signal quality and assessment of practical implementation of wearable bio sensors in ubiquitous healthcare monitoring application. Analog signal performance evaluation on the ear sensors shows the necessity of applying a layer of transparent thin film. Remote monitoring of ear PPG signal, finger PPG signal and ECG signal are presented to demonstrate ubiquitous vital signal monitoring environment.
