Abstract
In this paper, we develop the Mobile Common Component which can get the vehicle information as a detail development of Vehicle-IT Convergence Platform by Android platform based mobile devices (e.g., Smartphone). The Mobile Common Component provides common application programming interfaces (API) for collecting and analyzing the various vehicle information (e.g., vehicle mileage information, diagnosis information, sensor data) through CAN (Controller Area Network) that is the inner vehicle network protocol. Vehicle information collected by an OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) communication module is transferred to a mobile device through a bluetooth network. Through reusing the common APIs provided by the Mobile Common Component, Vehicle-IT related companies can develop various mobile service applications more easily and quickly regardless of the vehicle manufacturer or vehicle information.
