Abstract
Temperature measurement system for microscopic space has been fabricated using fluorescent microscope. Temperature is measured based on the thermal quench of the fluorescent intensity. A small fluorescent piece was used as temperature marker and the performance of the system was examined over the temperature region from -100 °C to 0 °C. It was clarified that an uncertainty of ±3 °C is achievable over the above temperature region. In addition, various Cr3+ doped crystals are found to be useful as the temperature marker for this type of system.
