Abstract
Lip motion features such as changes in lip width and length provide important information for authenticating personal identification or recognizing lip motions as commands. An interface based on lip motion features is practical because it can be operated without touching the device. In this study, we analyze changes in the motion features of lips due to the influence of vocalization We analyze five features: aspect ratio, horizontal length displacement, vertical length displacement, lip area, and vocalization The results show that the variation in the breadth and longitudinal width without vocalization has a tendency to increase as compared that with vocalization. Moreover, the number of image frames involved in a non-vocalized command is longer by 19.9%, on average.
