Abstract :
In this paper, a novel RF TOF ranging method for wireless sensor networks based on Two-Way-Ranging (TWR) using heterogeneous clocks is proposed. It generates new virtual time resolution which is smaller than the intrinsic time resolution of two clocks. In order to get TOF information without synchronization of two nodes, this system uses round trip time of RF, where one sensor node transmits RF signals at prescribed time. We analyzed this method and confirmed that the resolution of TOF ranging is greatly improved.
