Abstract
This paper presents a new design concept of self-repairing control systems (SRCSs) against sensor failures of a stuck-type. The SRCS considered here, can automatically replace the failed sensor with the healthy one so as to repair the control system completely. By using a nonlinear detection filter, the detection time can be arbitrarily shortened. This is realized by the fact that the nonlinear filter has a prescribed finite escape time temporary in the faulty situation.
