Abstract

This paper provides an overview of the advantages and disadvantages of promoting industry clusters as an industrial development necessity for Hengshui. Then, using economic statistical analysis, it presents an index system based on industrial development situation of Hengshui. As an industrial competitiveness evaluation system, it filters out the more competitive industries to determine key industries industry of Hengshui city, namely: chemical industry cluster, equipment manufacturing & fabricated metal products industry cluster, textile & garment industry cluster and food processing industry cluster. Finally, policy measures of industrial cluster development are put forward.
