Abstract
The paper investigates the impact of propagation in Ka band quality, by considering the case of clear sky and uniform cloud coverage, up to conditions of rain. The additional attenuation is linked to the probability by focusing in Europe at different latitudes. A layered model is exploited for numerical estimation of both the attenuation and the cloud backscatter in case of uniform cloud coverage.
