Title :
DORIS project: The European downstream service for landslides and subsidence risk management
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
DORIS is an advanced FP7-EU downstream service for the detection, mapping, monitoring and forecasting of surface deformation, at different temporal and spatial scales, by exploiting multiple Earth Observation (EO) and ground based (non-EO) data and technologies. In particular, it focuses on facilitating the use of EO information and products to improve detecting and monitoring of deformation phenomena over large areas and for significant periods, and forecasting their extent and magnitude. This paper presents the first outcomes relevant to selected European areas prone to ground deformation, highlighting as EO data and technologies exploited in the project can significantly improve the ability of European Civil Defence authorities to assess and manage the risk induced by natural and man-made hazards.
