Abstract :
This paper introduces a method of Snowbelt flood risk early-warning in Xinjiang Province. Firstly, snow water equivalent is inversed from snow depth of AMSR-E data. Then the analysis points above threshold of catchment area and upstream of residential area are selected. The instantaneous flow value Qpand maximum allowable flow Qt of analysis points are calculated. The points with ratio value of Qpand Qt greater than threshold are implemented inundation analysis using two-dimensional unsteady flow model, and flood risk areas are acquired. This method was used in Ili State, Xinjiang Province for Snowbelt flood risk early-warning in 2010 and has taken effect. However, Snow water equivalent retrieval model, Calculation model of instantaneous flow value and maximum allowable flow still need further improvement.
