Abstract
In this research, digital 3D ukiyoe was created by using current digital technology for the purpose of evoking many people´s interest in ukiyoe that is one of the Japanese traditional culture. In ukiyoe, since the methods of Japanese traditional parallel perspective and Western geometric perspective are used, the layer model and the 3D partial model were used to represent the three-dimensional scene. In addition, three-dimensional display systems that use the effect of motion parallax of the user by measuring the user´s head position were developed. Several contents were created and they were exhibited in the exhibitions. From the result of the questionnaire asked in the exhibitions, effectiveness of the proposed system was evaluated.
