Abstract :
This paper proposes an algorithm to evaluate the amplitude modification factor and the propagation order of distance of the 1-ray and 2-ray models which are useful for the propagation estimation in the urban and suburban areas or along random rough surfaces. First we describe that the order is closely related to the field matching factor which becomes larger as the source antenna height is increased above the ground plane. It is shown that Hata´s source antenna height dependence of the order can be explained by our proposed model. Second we propose an algorithm to estimate the modification factor in terms of equivalent planar or solid angles computed from the illuminated 1D or 2D regions, respectively. Numerical calculations are also carried out to demonstrate the availabilities of the proposed procedures.
