Abstract :
We consider the complementarity of argument and explanation in dialog, aiming to model the interaction of agents with different knowledge bases and different points of view. The goal is to develop efficient and realistic argumentation processes. The Justification Logic was extended with arguments and explanations, resulting in a new logic called Argument and Explanatory Logic (AEL). This new logic provides the means to better use agents complementary knowledge on the subject being discussed. The AEL was applied on a cooperative labeling argumentation by agents with different views.
