Abstract :
With the wide use of room-temperature-vulcanized silicone rubber coating (RTV coating) in the power system, the aging problem of the RTV coatings is being drawn increasing attention. Most of the existing aging assessment methodologies do analysis from a macro-structure, but the aging is rarely evaluated from the perspective of micro-electrical characteristics. The thermally stimulated current (TSC) technique is an effective means to study various dielectric space charge characteristics. It is believed that TSC characteristic can be a new potential method to assess the aging degree and the aging characteristics of RTV coatings through systematic research. The TSC characteristics of RTV coating are influenced by different experimental parameters. Therefore, we should first determine the parameters of the TSC test. This paper mainly researched on the TSC curves of RTV coating and the TSC parameters of RTV coating under varied polarization voltages, polarization temperatures, polarization time and heating rates, to determine the optimum TSC experimental parameters of the RTV coating. Based on the experimental results, the TSC characteristics of different types of RTV coating under different operating years were obtained.
