Abstract :
A counter flow methane air flame was examined in preheated air cases in range of 22-450°C as well as non-preheated cases. Relatively stable flame and cell temperatures characterize preheated air flames. From the results of our experiments, we can assume that the preheated air extends the lean flammability and the effect of the burner distance is negligible on lean flammability, in the case of a high airflow rate. The extension of the lean flammability limit is one of the most significant results of our experiment.
