Abstract
Spectral phase modulation is used to compensate for the group delay ripple ( +/- 50 ps) of a chirped fiber Bragg grating (dispersion = 1651 ps/nm) to achieve a range resolution of 320 μm in a chirped pulse laser radar. Simulation results are also presented, confirming the improvement in laser radar performance due to compensation of the group delay ripple.
