Abstract :
Insulators with epoxy resin materials have been developed and used in transmission and distribution lines. Epoxy resin insulator performance is strongly influenced by environmental conditions especially in the tropical areas, which have high humidity levels and the effect of UV exposure. To improve the surface properties of epoxy resin materials, the addition of silicon rubber (silane) are useful to increase the hydrophobic contact angle on the material surface.
