  • Abstract
A current effort to reduce environmental impacts in an industrial company is mostly focused on reducing or off-setting the amount of CO2 emitted during its manufacturing activities. Although consumer product manufacturing companies are also extensively promoting energy-saving electrical appliances to show CO2 emissions reduction, electronics components for these appliances have been less well studied their roles on emissions reduction. The difference of energy consumption between a reference and a new model of the same electronic components series is quantified as CO2 emissions reduction by this component in the use phase of an end-product. A gross amount of the emissions reduction is defined as a “Product Contributions.” This result is expected to take on a new challenge of neutralizing CO2 Emissions from production processes by the Product Contributions.
