Abstract :
With the rapid growth in information and communication technology (ICT), there is increase in awareness of the environmental impacts related to the accelerating mass production, electricity use, and waste management of waste computers. India as become a emerging as hub for ICT as a consumer and supplier of e-products and market of computers has grown at an unprecedented pace in recent decade. This paper aims to describe the application of life cycle assessment (LCA) to investigate the environmental performance of Computers in Indian scenario. A desktop personal computer system has been selected to carry out the study. The waste management hierarchy is evaluated using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
