Abstract
The paper deals with recent legislative developments in the context of the EU Ecodesign-Directive. Sections 1 and 2 give a brief overview of the implementation of the Ecodesign-Directive since 2008. Sections 3 and 4 outline the transposition of the revised Ecodesign-Directive 2009/125/EG (so called ErP-Directive) into national law through the Energy related products act (Energieverbrauchsrelevante-Produkte-Gesetz, EVPG) from November 2011. They explain in particular how the national legislator has applied the provisions of the Regulation 765/2008 on accreditation and market surveillance with regard to the enforcement of EU-ecodesign requirements. Section 5 deals with market surveillance, outlining the way in which market surveillance authorities are organized and how they cooperate within Germany with its 16 Länder and on the EU level through the Administrative cooperation group.
