Abstract :
In order to run 3 phase squirrel cage induction motors even with a single phase supply at variable or higher than nominal speeds, the following scheme provides a simple and economical solution. It uses pulse width modulation electronics minimally and achieves best efficiency at all loads and speeds over 100-150% easily. Thus it will be of applicable value to industrial drives, agricultural pump motors and the like.
