Abstract :
An application of representing image boundaries based on vertex chain codes is exhibited on a new coordinate system of the hexagonal grid. Relative merits of using the proposed coordinatization for implementing operations using this coding scheme are presented. From boundaries characterized by edges, a formula is derived for representing vertices incident to the edges. Finally, a procedural extension that permits the simulation of the boundary representation is shown.
