Abstract
This paper proposes a method for reconstructing the three-phase voltage output of a current source inverter (CSI). The method produces a three-phase voltage by using the DC-link voltage and the switching pattern of the CSI and improves the reconstructed waveform by using the delay time of a filter. The proposed method can reduce errors between the actual voltage and the reconstructed voltage at the output voltage crosses. This paper discusses the characteristics of the reconstructed waveform and its variation with changes in the modulation ratio; switching frequency, reference output current frequency, and output filter capacitance. Experimental results confirm that the proposed method effectively produces the desired output three-phase voltage. Furthermore, in this paper, we clarify the operating conditions necessary for producing a good reconstructed waveform by analyzing the experimental results.
