  • Abstract
Sun Tzu´s Art of War is a work of Chinese philosophy. It can be seen as a manual for warfare, but at the same time it is so much more. Sun Tzu´s Art of War describes how the ultimate victory is one won without fighting. Any sector, including the telecommunications sector, may learn from Sun Tzu´s work. The work contains concepts like doing appraisals (importance of information), of taking whole (creating a win-win), of the sage commander (strong leadership), of emotions (being rational) and of shih (having the initiative). Sun Tzu´s insights in these concepts have stood the test of time for over 2500 years and we may do well to study them in today´s Telecom industry.
