Towards self-organizing, self-sustainable open education systems

This paper is a brief review of the vast literature dedicated to the study of open and lifelong education, aiming to identify solutions for the implementation of self-organizing systems in the open education environment. We propose a simple solution to enable stigmergic interactions between learners in order to create self-organization of the educational content in learning networks. We also explore the possibility to obtain sustainability of such system, by using a P2P file sharing protocol.
