Abstract
Below the rated wind speed, Wind Power Generation System tracks the optimum power coefficient curve for capturing maximum wind energy, through the control of the generator speed. At present, the more mature maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control method is "hill climbing" search control method and extreme seeking control method. In analyzing the shortcomings of the above two methods, an improved MPPT control method is proposed, that is fuzzy extreme seeking control. Simulation results show that the proposed improved MPPT control method is effective, even if wind speed changes in large-scale, and the generator parameters are not accurate and detailed, the system can quickly reach the optimum position, and in the vicinity of the optimum position, the system can run smoothly.
