  • Abstract
    In this paper, the design and implementation of NCSLab 3D which is a web-based 3D laboratory for control education is introduced. The NCSLab 3D is built based on the NCSLab framework which supports the structure that the test rigs are diversely located in different parts of the world. In NCSLab 3D, laboratories buildings, rooms and test rigs are reconstructed in web browsers. During the remote experiments, the 3D animations which reflect the real-time status of the test rigs are also provided to users. They are synchronized with the real test rigs through data links. NCSLab 3D has been applied in the control engineering education in Wuhan University, China. The results of the teaching practice show that NCSLab 3D are able to bring great convenience to users and improve the efficiency of the laboratory equipments significantly.
