  • Abstract
Target tracking is one of important applications in wireless sensor networks that highly depend on sensor coordination because each sensor node can carry limited power in that all the sensor nodes should be scheduled in collaborative manner to balance the information contribution and resource consumption. In this paper, we propose sensor scheduling algorithm tracking-oriented based on GDF. When the target occurs in the sensor network, cluster and duty cycling algorithm is executed to schedule sensor node to perform taking task. The Gaussian particle filter is employed to estimate trajectory of target. With the target moving, only some nodes are active, the others go to sleep for conserving energy. Using dynamic cluster and duty cycling technology can assign effectively tasks and significantly reduce energy consumption.
