Abstract :
Design and realization a handheld mobile and PC monitoring system for inspecting transmission lines is introduced in this article. The critical technologies involve three parts: the map data for patrolling transmission line, how to locate the exact locations of the workers, how to transport the defective data to the monitor system. So we design a handheld mobile which provides background map, poles and towers map and transmission lines map, and a GPS module in it, too. The monitor center system has two responsibilities: monitoring where the workers are and receive the defective data and save it. Finally, an experiment data is given to show the system is effective to workers.
