Abstract
Focusing on resolving the difficulty of real-time and precise detection on the distance among virtual objects in three-dimensional hoisting environment, a distance detection method in virtual three-dimensional hoisting environment is proposed in this paper. First, bounding the three-dimensional objects by using basic geometries or axis-aligned bounding boxes (AABB); Second, the three-dimensional distance algorithm based either on geometric symmetry or coordinate transformation is adopted to detect the distance in terms of the different features of the virtual objects. The results of simulation show that the algorithms proposed in this paper can successfully achieve the goal of precisely detecting the distance and effectively avoiding the collision among virtual objects, which therefore ensure the success of hoisting simulation.
