Abstract :
The external geometry of fillet weld is important factor to evaluate the quality and cost of the weld. The fillet weld must be made to leg size and shape of weld profile which described in the welding quality standard. If the weld leg sizes are different with standard value, smaller or bigger, then the welding region cannot maintain the stiffness and the crack occurs. Currently the most of the fillet welding inspection is measured only leg length using a manual gauge. Because the each welding inspector comes out the different results depending on the measurement characteristic, this method does not guarantee the weld quality. In this paper, the laser-vision system is applied to the inspection of weld profile and the dual-laser beam is applied to compensate the pose of the welding inspector. The laser-vision system which is possible to the high precision measurement is able to calculate the various measurement items.
