The works on high-current ion beams in the Novosibirsk Institute of Nuclear Physics

The Institute carries out the studies or the so-culled "gas-dynamic" acceleration seheme suggested. in the paper /1/.^∗ This scheme is characterized by that the electron accelerator operates in "natural" (negative) polarity regime and ion acceleration occurs under the action of the electric field of oscillating electrons into the equipoiontial drift space situated at the outer side of the anode foil (Fig. 1).
