Abstract :
This paper proposes a WPT system by short helical dipoles using the electrical resonance. The WPT systems by the small dipoles have been proposed, and they need the matching circuit to cancel very large capacitance at the operating frequency. The proposed helical structure resonates without the matching circuit and its slender structure is appropriate of the built-in devices for handheld terminals. Its antenna for WPT can be not only in-line and parallel array, but also the orthogonally array, which provides high flexibility in WPT applications. The following sections present the WPT experiments using helical antennas to demonstrate high flexibility of the element position.
