Abstract :
This paper describes the PMC (Perfect Magnetic Conductor) and EBG (Electromagnetic Band Gap) characteristics of a cross type artificial magnetic conductor. It is clarified that the PMC characteristics appears at higher frequency than the EBG characteristics and the frequency difference between two characteristics becomes large as the cross type AMC becomes thin. It is also shown that the EBG characteristics appear in wide frequency band as the metal patch becomes small.
