The Research and Application of the Integration Pattern of PDM and CAD in Aerosun

The Integration of CAD and PDM is the greatest concern to customers. The integration is one of the most difficult processes in PDM implementation, and it is also the primary and key link to assure the successful implement of PDM project. So far the PDM implementation in China, the interface exchange integration pattern of CAD to PDM is being used by most projects. In this mode, the product designers first complete mechanical drawings through CAD, and use the secondary development interface to put the CAD drawing files into PDM database and generate the product-tree automatically. This paper introduces the one-way integration pattern of PDM to CAD, and its successful application in Aerosun Corporation. The practical application in a number of branch molecular companies has shown that this integration pattern has a good effect.
