Abstract
Tests of a radial-focus ion diode using externally supplied magnetic suppression and operating at power approaching 1 TW (10 MeV and 100 k amp) are described. The magnetic field configuration in the system causes a deflection of the ion flow that results in tangential incidence on a 2 cm diameter by 15 cm long cylinder.
