  • Abstract
    The scientific and technical problems which can be solved by use of long pulse τ∼10−6 – 10−3 sec, high power 105 – 107J electron beams and the technical possibilities of generating such beams are discussed. Some physics and technical aspects of the forming, transport and stability of beams and different types of the pulse power sources are considered. A prospective design of a compact multichannel acceleration 1 MeV, 1 kA range tube is proposed.
