Abstract
Vacuum planar diodes with explosive emitting cathodes for microsecond electron beam generation are discussed. Cathodes with current reduce resistors in the circuit of cathode plasma initiators and low electric strength of the cathode plasma initiators are described. The current yield of the beam and surface hardening of instrumental steel by low energy electron beam research results are presented.
