Abstract :
The report presents some results of theoretical and experimental investigation of the temperature fields and stress waves appearing in metals under the influence of high-current pulsed electron beams irradiation. As a result the relation has been established of the temperature field configuration and dynamics to the electron beam parameters. Excitation mechanisms and evolution of stress waves spreading from the irradiated surface into the sample bulk have also been studied.
