Abstract :
This paper presents transient effects in a reverberation chamber excited by short pulses. The field distribution of the chamber is modeled with a new simulation method using the superposition of plane waves in time domain. The behaviour of the simulated power in the chamber when excited with impulses of different length is given, discussed and compared to measurements. Furthermore, the probability of obtaining maximum transient values larger than the steady state value is given as a function of the number of samples.
