Abstract :
In traction applications, critical transient conditions such as trolley bounces, voltage dips or fast power variations can occur. This paper investigates a behavior of single-phase active current source rectifier (ACSR) under above stated critical transient conditions. The analyzed ACSR was controlled by a strategy able to control Power Factor (PF) as well as Distortion Power Factor (DPF) with active harmonic mitigation approach based on resonant controllers. Proper function of proposed control strategy and its behavior under critical transient states have been verified by both simulations and large experimental study made on developed small-scale prototype of ACSR of rated power of 7kVA.
