Abstract :
Development of integrated traction and auxiliary power supply converters designed for diesel-electric rail vehicles is described. Some considerations regarding construction of compact converter with high power density are stressed out. Presented solution was thoroughly tested in laboratory conditions during typical traction/braking operating cycles with satisfactory results. Modular design approach resulted in compact solution, which is easy to adapt to customer requirements, and has many advantages in commissioning and maintenance.
